Caroline Again

Today we put on a pettiskirt from adorabelle. Caroline liked her skirt.

The headband came from Hannah's Tutu's.  I am pleased with both purchases.

Caroline

I have not finished all my projects for Creativity Boot Camp. I have traveled to Delaware to babysit my grandchildren for the weekend. I will finish up my assignments when I get back. I make take some of the babies for some of the themes, but I want to do them in order so some will have to wait. Here is Caroline at 6 months old.

Assignment #9 Drizzle

This is torture! I am on a diet and I had to create this for the assignment. Lucky for me my husband was willing to eat it. I know I couldn't just throw it away.

Assignment #8-- Ornament

This assignment was sooo much fun. I love ornaments. I have so many pictures of my Christmas ornaments and I still take pictures of my favorite ones every year. In todays collection of photos I have one Christmas ornament that never got put away. I don't know how it got left behind, but it did and it kept me from having to dig out any others. This particular one came from an ornament exchange I attended last year.

The next picture is the ornaments on my candelabra. I love things like this.

Then I thought about the ornaments in my garden. I have two garden angels that hang on my fence. My mother made both of them. They are a little worn from weather, but I still like them.

And let's not forget natural ornaments that hang on our trees.

Assignment #7 Fly

As soon as I saw the topic I knew I was taking a trip to the airport. Even my husband knew before I told him. I told him the topic and he said are headed for the airport? I don't know why, I love planes. I used to take my kids for rides by the airport when we lived in Ft. Lauderdale. The kids knew when Mom said, "We're going for a ride" it meant we were headed for the airport. When I move to PA my husband took me to a small airport in Hazleton so I could take pictures of planes. That airport was fun because there was a group called the Hazleton Rip Cords who jumped most every weekend. I could take pictures of planes and jumpers. Now I live outside Atlanta, one of the busiest airports in the world. I love going to Hartsfield.

This first one we spotted a little late and I jumped out of the car to get this-- cut off a wing, but I still like it.

This one I actually took through the windshield

And I caught this coming down and I waited until some of the trees/bushes were at the bottom of the frame. .

Assignment #6 Fluid

Today's assignment seemed easy enough and I really don't like taking the easy way out, but that is just what I did. Not to make excuses, but there is just not enough time in the day. But the best reason is I have a date with my husband and he is waiting on me to finish this so we can go out.

Assignment #5 Grow

Day 5 of the Creativity Boot Camp was a tough one for me. I struggled with this all day. I do think part of my problem is trying to out do myself each day. I don't want to do the obvious or what I think would be the obvious. These are from my hydrangea plant. One just starting and the other larger that has grown.

While working on these photos my daughter called and asked what I was doing. She already knew about the Creativity Boot Camp and my escapades the past 4 days. I told her what I was doing and she immediately blurted out, "Why don't you do a balloon?" Why didn't I think of that.

While this was not exactly my idea, I ran for the balloons--grabbed my husband to help me once more and took a few shots in different stages as he blew it up.

I do not have much experience doing this so I did the best I could.

Assignment #4 Heavy Metal

This one was a tough one for me. At first I couldn't think of anything. My husband has this thing that lifts a motor out of a car, but I couldn't move it to take a good picture. Then I thought of going downtown to wait for a train but a storm was coming in so I opted out of that. I finally thought about taking pictures of my husbands weights and I told him this as we ate dinner. He said he would lift some if I didn't get his face. So this is what I got!

Assignment #3 Multiple Layers

This assignment had my head spinning with ideas. Implementing them was another thing entirely. I hated that I had to work today because it left less time for me to work on this assignment. I must remind myself work is good. It's how I put food on my plate--whether it be hot dogs or crab legs. You can see the difference in our menu when my husband does the cooking. But remember, I had a purpose yesterday.

I also love fabric. What I wanted to do was drop layers of fabric and catch the layers in the air as they fell. I needed some extra hands and did not have them, so I may attempt this another night when my husband can help me.

This set of plastic ware was sitting on my table from yesterday. All stacked neatly in multiple layers. It only made sense to take a picture.

Assignment #2-- Picnic

This is the second day of Creativity Boot Camp and our topic for the day was picnic. I thought this would be easy. I ran to my basement to drag out an old picnic basket thinking I would set it up on the picnic table and snap away. Then I thought--that's too easy. I need more of a challenge. What could I do that would say picnic but not include a basket, a tablecloth or a bottle of wine? I thought about looking for an ant hill and then placing some food nearby so they would be attracted, but I didn't have a lot of time to wait. It was getting late and I didn't want to use flash. Somehow flash and picnic doesn't seem right. My last thought was picnic food. So I put some hot dogs on the grill, grabbed the condiments, a bag of chips and my camera. Voila! My picnic.

1st Assignment -- Ivory

I was very anxious to receive my first assignment for the Creativity Boot Camp. Ivory. What can you do with ivory.  My first thought was to read the definition from the dictionary, just in case there is some hidden meaning to the word that might help me. My husband and I set off for breakfast and then the flea market. A typical Sunday for us. As we wandered past the stalls my mind was on Ivory. Nothing. No elephants, no rhinos, no walruses nor their tusks. As we headed home I asked my husband to stop by TJMaxx to look for a new outfit. I can't go in those stores without circling the entire store. I love housewares, bedding and linen, shoes, purses, childrens--ok, I can forgo the men's department. As I walked through the glassware I spied this beautiful Ivory cake stand. And I just happen to collect cake stands. I had to have this.
What could I do with an ivory cake stand? Hmmmm. What I wanted to do, but did not have the time was make a tower of cookies (ivory colored) and have my own little ivory tower of cookies on my ivory cake stand. But I have a date with my husband--it's our anniversary-- and there wasn't enough time. So I took out an ivory table cloth, put my ivory cake stand on it and snapped away.

That's Right--Grilled Pizza

I never heard of grilling a pizza until my step-son gave his father a pizza stone that goes on the grill. Since we grill just about everything--it seemed like the perfect gift. The first pizza came out a little bit too crisp. Ok, it was really bad. The bottom was so hard and blackened we couldn't even cut it. Not to worry, the second one came out just right. We didn't have to heat up an oven which would heat up the house. And we enjoyed sitting outside--well, we do that almost nightly.
