What I do When a Client Cancels

I had a maternity shoot scheduled the other day and cancelled at the last minute, so I took a little trip with my husband. While I hate that I didn't get to shoot maternity shots, I got a chance to go out with John. We had a great time and I hope my client is feeling better.

Florida Sunrises

I just came back from visitin family in South Florida. Oh what beautiful days and nights we had last week. The weather was fabulous and these sunrises were just beautiful.

I must say there is no better vacation than the one I just returned from this past week. I spent one day in the Florida Everglades, one day in Viera Wetlands (that is more central FL) and then one morning at a few parks near my sister's home shooting birds and nature. Then I had a morning shooting a trash the dress/bridal on the beach in Deerfield. It was all about taking pictures. 

Little Waylon!

I had the opportunity to babysit last night, which pretty much means it is time for a photo shoot. Waylon was beyond cooperative. I propped him up and just before I snapped he moved his hand in this position. What more could I ask?

I think he is really getting the hang of it here. Poor little guy is teething like crazy so I was lucky to get these shots before he started fussing.

Fun with Bubbles

I had such a good time with my grandchildren. I actually thought I would be totally exhausted when I left, but they were so good I hated to leave. My daughter-in-law has them on such a great schedule it is easy. I don't know how she did it. My kids were never on any schedule. Neither were my sisters or brothers kids.

I accepted a challenge to take a picture every day this year. It's really not going very well. I never thought I would have trouble pulling the camera out and taking pictures. It's not that I don't want to--it's just finding the time. Some days I am not feeling very creative. Some days I don't have a subject. I decided to be a little creative with photos I had already taken. In this picture, I added bubbles. I think it makes the photo.

Sleeping Baby

I have been lucky enough to be asked to babysit two of my grandchildren for a week. Isn't he just so precious?  I don't mean to brag, but he is just one of the sweetest. He is actually really sleeping, but he loves to pretend he is sleeping. He also loves to cuddle and I love that about him.

Partial to Black and White

I am really partial to Black and White photography and I especially like a nostalgic effect. This was taken on my little excursion to Dahlonega. Well, this is actually in Cleveland, GA as we entered Babyland General Hospital (where the Cabbage Patch Children are born).

I don't know if I like black and white because it reminds of the 'good old days' or because I had a darkroom back in the film days.

Ice Cream in December!

I went out on a shooting spree with a photographer friend of mine. She brought her daughter Ellie with her--which we do most of the time. Ellie is very used to posing for us, but this day we were on a quest to take pictures of waterfalls. Ellie was getting bored so we took her to Babyland General Hospital to see the Cabbage Patch Babies being born. She could care less about the dolls. So we stopped for some ice cream. I think this made her day.
