My First Maternity Shoot

I had my first maternity shoot today and was pleased with the results. I had a great model, Laura, who was open to just about anything and she is cute to boot. My sister-in-law, Barbara, assisted me and, I couldn't have a better assistant. It just made for a perfect day of shooting.
Most maternity shots should be done in the eighth month and not at the last minute. We were a little worried Laura might go into labor before the pictures. If you want a maternity session, schedule for your eighth month.
Laura is due any day and I will be doing her newborn shots as well so keep checking in for an update.

Snow in Georgia

Ah, the beautiful snow! At the first sign of a snowflake, I grab my camera and head out the door. Taking pictures of snow is like playing in snow to others. I am so glad we had so much snow this year. Of course, I'll be glad to see it go so, Spring can begin. I have put off so many outdoor photo shoots because of the weather.

Little Caroline

I could look at Caroline all day long!
There is nothing more precious than newborn babies, and we need to capture these moments while we can. They grow so quickly. It seems like only yesterday I had my first child and she's ready to have her own. Now the grandchildren have begun to arrive  and unfortunately they do not live near me. I have to wait months at a time to hold them and play with them. These pictures are all I have in between visits. And what grandmother does not want to share pictures of her grandchildren with all her friends? If you want to share photos of your children or grandchildren, I can help.
I would love to photograph your newborn so call today.

Happy New Year!

I was so blessed to end 2009 with family and friends during the holidays. We also welcomed a new granddaughter. Welcome Caroline. She is so precious. My husband and I took a week off to visit  more family in the North East. We came home to discover we have another grandchild on the way.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I will be taking a few days off to spend with my family while they are in town for the holiday.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Ah, Christmas is almost here. I'm almost ready are you? Make sure you have plenty of batteries for your camera and if you have rechargeables now is the time to recharge them so they are ready. Nothing worse than discovering on Christmas morning that you "thought" you were ready.
I have 3 batteries for my camera all charged up. I have 24 rechargeable batteries for my flash charged--it takes 4--so I can be recharging the first set to go while I use the other 5 sets. Get ready!
Make sure you have plenty of compact flash cards or SD cards to hold all your pictures. And remember for better print quality use the best quality setting on your camera. I believe for most it will say fine. If you can shoot RAW files they are really the best but you need the right programs to convert to jpg files. If you have questions feel free to ask.

Road Trip

Took a little trip to Nashville this weekend. A beautiful city. If you have not been there you should check it out if you have a chance. It's only about 4.5-5 hours from Atlanta and it is all interstate unless you take a detour or two. We saw a bridge that I decided I had to take a shot at so we got off the first exit and drove along some back roads a while. This is a shot of the bridge and a barn I saw. I thought HDR was the way to go with these photos.
